Following an attempted murder in Redditch in the early hours of this morning (Sunday 12 March), and believe that anyone who was leaving the Oast House pub at around midnight may have information which could be vital to our investigation.
Shortly after 12.35am this morning the victim, a 26-year-old man, arrived at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Redditch with multiple stab wounds.
His injuries were assessed as being life-threatening and he was later transferred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham by ambulance, where he remains in a critical condition.
A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody.
A scene guard remains in place at the Oast House pub this morning.
Detective Chief Inspector Gareth Lougher, said: “We’re in the very early stages of this investigation and are not yet sure where the attack took place. However, we know that the victim left the Oast House pub on Papermill Drive in a white Audi Q3 at around 11.55pm. CCTV shows people in the car park at around the same time and we are really keen to speak to them as they could be vital witnesses.
“We’re particularly keen to identify a group of around 8-10 men who were in the car park at the time the victim left.
“If you are one of these people, or were in the pub last night and have any information which may help our investigation, I’d ask you to please get in touch as soon as possible.
“Lastly, I know that incidents like this can be alarming, but I’d like to reassure you that we are working hard to understand what happened and that we don’t believe there is any risk to the wider community.”
