Man Admits Kidnap Attempt on Teen Girl in Swindon
A 27-year-old man has pleaded guilty to trying to kidnap a 17-year-old girl in Swindon. Abdulmawal Ibrahim Adam, from Stanier Street, admitted the charge at Swindon Crown Court today (October 14). He will be sentenced on December 12 and remains in custody.
Chilling Kidnap Attempt on Teen Walking Home
The terrifying attack unfolded around 9.30pm on March 6. Adam, a Sudanese national, targeted the teenager as she walked home from work near Princes Street and Fleming Way. Despite her desperate attempts to ignore him and flag down passing cars, Adam followed her closely.
As she crossed the road at the traffic lights, Adam suddenly lunged, grabbing and dragging her back across the street. Thankfully, bus passengers waiting nearby stepped in and scared him off.
Attack Spreads, But Public Stops Him Twice
Not finished, Adam then chased another woman down Princes Street. She escaped before he turned on a female witness who had seen the first attack. Again, quick-thinking members of the public intervened, stopping any further violence.
This brazen attacker prowled public streets, but courageous bystanders helped foil his plans. Police are on high alert as sentencing day approaches.
