Shaine March Shocks Court with Murder Confession of Pregnant Partner
Shaine March has dramatically U-turned in court, confessing to murdering his pregnant partner, Alana Odysseos. The 32-year-old was just weeks away from giving birth to her third child when she was violently attacked at their Walthamstow home last July.
March, 45, initially admitted manslaughter by diminished responsibility but denied murder. That all changed on Friday as he stunned the court by admitting to killing Alana, plunging the trial into chaos.
The confession came after a defence expert withdrew support for March’s diminished responsibility claim. With the jury discharged and reporting restrictions lifted, shocking details about March’s violent past emerged.

Final Hours of Horror: Argument Over Abortion Ends in Stabbing
The night before Alana’s murder, she and March had a bitter argument about whether to terminate her pregnancy. She was overheard saying, “I don’t want to kill my baby.”
Hours later, neighbours found her outside the house, bleeding and clutching her stomach, dressed only in a nightie and dressing gown.
“Shaine stabbed me, he stabbed me. Help, help,” she cried before collapsing.
Alana suffered multiple stab wounds across her chest, stomach, pelvis, and limbs. Meanwhile, March calmly walked away before sending a chilling voice note to his mum: “Mum, I just killed a woman, and I’m going back to jail.”
Post-Murder Madness: Bloody Rampage and Police Arrest
Just after 4.40 am, staff at Creams Cafe called 999 after finding March covered in blood, confessing to killing his “wife and child.”
On arrest, he reportedly said, “I did it. I killed her Alana Odysseos. I killed her hahahaha.” In custody, he described himself as “scum” and demanded to be sent back to jail.
March later revealed the stabbing happened during a furious row over a pair of trainers. While handcuffed, he attacked another detainee, knocking out three teeth.
Justice Looms: Whole Life Sentence Sought for Merciless Killer
March remains in custody and is set to be sentenced on October 31. Prosecutors are pushing for a whole life order, reflecting the brutal nature of the crime.
Alana’s family sat through the harrowing trial and witnessed March’s breakdown before his guilty plea abruptly ended proceedings on day seven. They expressed gratitude to the police and prosecution team.
Detective Inspector Aytac Necati, leading the investigation, said: “March is a coward who showed no remorse. This case highlights the devastating impact of domestic abuse. Anyone suffering abuse should come forward – we will listen and support you.”
