Essex Groomer Busted: Two Girls Saved from Online Predator
A chilling grooming case has ended with 23-year-old Tye Hunt locked up for targeting two young girls. The Essex man used Snapchat to manipulate and coerce a 12-year-old and a 14-year-old into sexual activity.
Deceit and Danger on Snapchat
Between 2022 and 2023, Hunt bombarded the 12-year-old with explicit photos, pushing her to send similar images and arranged to meet her for sex. He lied to the 14-year-old, pretending to be 16, promising to pay for a hotel meetup while sending her graphic images.
Police Nail Hunt After Brave Victims Speak Out
The girls reported Hunt to local police, who tracked him down to Harwich before arresting him on Brockley Road, London. At Chelmsford Crown Court on 25 November, Hunt pleaded guilty to attempting to arrange a child sex offence and two counts of sexual communication with a child.
Jailed for Nearly Three Years and Monitored for Life
Judge sentenced Hunt to two years and ten months in jail. He is now under an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and restrained from contacting the victims ever again. Authorities warn this conviction sends a stark message: predators will be hunted down and locked up.
