Cops Probe After Skeletal Remains Found in Alleyway Tent

 

Police have launched a serious investigation after skeletal remains were discovered in a tent in a Hull alleyway.

Grim Discovery in Melwood Grove

Humberside Police were called to a residential area near Melwood Grove, Hull, at around 8:15pm on Thursday after a member of the public spotted what appeared to be human bones inside a tent.

Officers believe the remains belong to a single individual. A police cordon is currently in place, and an increased police presence is expected while detectives carry out their inquiries.

Police Assure Public Amid Rising Concerns

A spokesperson for Humberside Police confirmed: “A scene guard is currently in place following the discovery of what appears to be human skeletal remains on Melwood Grove in Hull yesterday evening (Thursday, 11 December 2025).”

Detective Chief Inspector Ben Robinson, leading the investigation, said:

“I understand a report of this nature will likely cause concern amongst the community. I want to reassure everyone that a dedicated team of specialist forensic officers is working to establish the circumstances surrounding this discovery.”

“Anyone with information that could help our enquiries should contact us on 101, quoting log 453 of 11 December.”
