Son Stabs Father in Savage Knife Attack in Great Yarmouth
Giovanni Tchuda, 21, has been locked up for nearly six years after launching a brutal knife assault on his own father in their Great Yarmouth home. The horrific attack last May has left the family shattered for life.
Premeditated Ambush Leaves Dad Fighting for Life
Tchuda, born in Guinea-Bissau and brought to the UK by his father in 2018, lurked in the bathroom before striking. Armed with a kitchen knife, he repeatedly stabbed Marcelino — cutting his head, chest, back, and even his eye. The blade snapped mid-attack, but Tchuda showed no mercy and kept going.
- Marcelino suffered collapsed lungs and needed emergency surgery.
- Terrified and traumatised, he now refuses any contact with his son.
Judge Condemns ‘Wicked and Ferocious’ Assault
Judge Andrew Shaw described the attack as “wicked and ferocious,” highlighting how clearly it was planned. Court evidence uncovered Tchuda’s chilling obsession with knives and his disturbing online searches for weapons before the attack.
