A huge blaze gutted The Promise School in Okehampton, Devon, this afternoon. The specialist school suffered severe damage as thick black smoke and towering flames were seen from miles away.
Fire Crews Race to The Promise School
Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service scrambled six fire engines, two aerial ladder platforms, and two water carriers to tackle the raging fire at Dartmoor View. As the inferno worsened, more appliances arrived for backup. Police also sealed off the scene to keep people safe.
