Bladed Weapon Shuts Down Calder Gardens
Two people have been rushed to the hospital after a bladed weapon incident rocked Calder Gardens, Edinburgh, this morning. Police Scotland confirmed officers were called to the scene around 8.25am following reports of a man armed with a knife.

Armed Police and Dog Units Deployed
Specialist armed officers and dog units swarmed a nearby property as part of the ongoing investigation. The two injured individuals were taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment. Officers have stressed the situation is under control and there is no threat to the wider public.
Schools Locked Down as Precaution
For safety, schools in the area, including Wester Hailes High School, were placed on lockdown. Parents were reassured that pupils remained safe during the police operation.
Police Appeal for Information
“I understand this is an alarming incident for the local community,” said Police Scotland Chief Inspector Scott Kennedy. “Officers will remain in the area as enquiries continue. Anyone with information is urged to approach officers or call 101.”
Residents were advised to avoid Calder Gardens while emergency responders dealt with the incident. Police investigations remain ongoing.
