Air Ambulance Scrambles to Scene
London’s Air Ambulance, along with several ambulance crews, rushed to the scene. Emergency responders treated an injured child before rushing them to a major trauma centre. The child’s condition is currently unknown.
Bus Routes Diverted, Traffic Gridlock Ensues
The closure stretches between Weigall Road and Horn Park Lane, forcing bus routes 122, 178, and 321 to divert. Commuters face delays and disruption amid the unexpected detours.
Official Statement on the Incident
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called today (Monday 2) at 3.41pm to reports of a road traffic collision in Eltham Road, SE12. We sent resources including ambulance crews, a clinician in a response car, an incident response officer, an advanced paramedic practitioner and London’s air ambulance. We treated a child at the scene before taking them to a London major trauma centre.”
The Metropolitan Police have been contacted for further comment.
