Police in Thurrock have smashed a major stolen vehicle ring, recovering vehicles and machinery worth a whopping £850,000 in just one week.

Chop Shop Exposed Near South Ockendon

Essex Police’s Rural Engagement Team uncovered a notorious “chop shop” near South Ockendon. The raid revealed stolen cars, parts, and bodyshells valued at around £594,000 — including a luxury Bentley Continental.

Tracking Tech Key to Big Breakthrough

Sgt Callum Barber said tracker devices played a “crucial” role in pinpointing stolen goods and the illicit site. He urged owners to fit trackers on high-value vehicles and machinery to help combat theft.
