A man has been locked up after a relentless campaign of abuse and threats, climaxing with a terrifying break-in where he threatened his victim with a machete.
Brutal Siege Ends Behind Bars
James Guest, 24, from Rocky Lane, Birmingham, repeatedly targeted his victim before breaking into her home last July. Court heard he brandished a machete during the terrifying ordeal.
Cunning Calls and Cold-Blooded Denials
Guest even taunted the detective in charge, inviting her over the phone to “play a game” as police hunted him down. But when arrested, he tried to dodge blame.
Justice Served at Warwick Crown Court
Faced with overwhelming evidence and the victim’s bravery, Guest threw in the towel and pleaded guilty to breaching a non-molestation order, threatening with a bladed weapon, and threatening to share intimate images.
On 2 March, Warwick Crown Court sentenced him to two years and five months in prison.
Detective Hails Victory
“When we first interviewed Guest he tried to lie and manipulate his way out of being held to account,” said Detective Constable Baylie Cairns. “He abandoned his denials once confronted with the mountain of evidence backed by the victim’s courage. Guest is clearly a danger to women and we welcome this sentence.”
