A Birmingham man has been locked up after a nightmare campaign of abuse ended with a chilling break-in where he threatened his victim with a machete.
Brutal Siege Ends Behind Bars
James Guest, 24, from Rocky Lane, Birmingham, terrorised his victim relentlessly before forcing his way into her home last July. Court heard he waved a machete during the frightening ordeal.
Cunning Calls and Cold-Blooded Denials
Guest even taunted the detective hunting him, inviting her on the phone to “play a game.” But when police finally caught him, he tried to wriggle out of blame.
Justice Served at Warwick Crown Court
Faced with overwhelming proof and the victim’s courage, Guest admitted guilt to breaching a non-molestation order, threatening with a bladed weapon, and threatening to share intimate images.
On 2 March, Warwick Crown Court sentenced him to two years and five months behind bars.
Detective Hails Victory
“When we first interviewed Guest he tried to lie and manipulate his way out of being held to account,” said Detective Constable Baylie Cairns. “He abandoned his denials once confronted with the mountain of evidence backed by the victim’s courage. Guest is clearly a danger to women and we welcome this sentence.”
