Hidden Phones and Drugs Discovered in Baby’s Bedroom
A 23-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent has been locked up after police uncovered a drugs phone stashed under a baby’s mattress. Liam Poole was caught red-handed during a police raid on a Longton property last November.
Officers found two phones hidden in the baby’s cot, while another was concealed among Christmas presents. Bags of white powder – suspected crack cocaine and heroin – were discovered atop a kitchen cupboard, alongside more than £10,000 in cash.
Jail Time for Longton Drug Supplier
On Friday, 13 March, Poole was sentenced to four years and one month at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court. He pleaded guilty to supplying crack cocaine, heroin, and monkey dust.
Phone analysis revealed 270 drug-related messages sent over five days to approximately 70 different contacts, linked to the so-called “Jack line” drug network.
Initially refusing to comment during police interviews, Poole later admitted his guilt in court.
Police Praise Success in Tackling Drug Crime
“Poole clearly tried to evade detection by hiding phones, drugs and cash in the property,” said PC Alkins from the city’s proactive team. “Thankfully, we removed them and detained him. We’ll keep cracking down on drugs supply across Staffordshire.”
