Iran Threatens Tourist Destinations Around The World Just As Easter Holidays Begin — As British Airways Cancels Flights Across The Middle East

British families gearing up for Easter holidays face fresh fears after Iran warned that tourist spots worldwide are no longer safe. The chilling threat comes just days before UK schools break up on April 3.

Iran Threatens Tourist Spots Globally

Iran’s military spokesman, General Abolfazl Shekarchi, issued a stark warning last Friday aimed at Western military personnel and officials. He declared, “Even parks, recreational areas, and tourist destinations anywhere in the world will no longer be safe for you.” No specific places were named, but the message was clear — nowhere is off limits.

Missile Strikes Shake Popular Holiday Havens

This threat follows recent Iranian strikes on destinations popular with Brits. Oman and the UAE suffered missile and drone attacks, including a disruptive drone strike on Dubai International Airport.

  • British Airways has cancelled flights to Bahrain, Dubai, Tel Aviv, and Amman until the end of May.
  • Flights to Doha are suspended until April 30.
  • Flights to Abu Dhabi are cancelled until October.

On Friday night, Iran fired two ballistic missiles at the joint UK-US military base in the Chagos Islands — the longest-range assault since hostilities began, showing it can strike far from its home turf.

Security Fears Spread Beyond the Middle East

Western intelligence warns Iran-linked sleeper cells could become active during escalations. Iran’s missile arsenal is a major worry: the Shahab-3 missile can reach 1,300km, and the Khorramshahr up to 2,000km — putting parts of southern and eastern Europe in the danger zone.

Dr Andreas Krieg from King’s College London said it’s “plausible” that Iran’s Basij militia operatives may already be inside the UK. He warned that political instability in Tehran could trigger more reckless moves.

Cyber Worries Add to Growing Threats

The National Cyber Security Centre recently urged UK businesses to brace for attacks from “Iran-linked hacktivists.” With the US also on spring break, security alerts have gone up on both sides of the Atlantic.

With tensions mounting, Britons planning holidays should stay alert as global dangers soar just in time for the school holidays.
