George McMaster, the racist monster who tortured and killed his six-months-pregnant partner Sharon Bubb, has been released from prison and moved into a hostel. The 51-year-old, from Paisley, was snapped out in public after The Sun exposed his shock release.
Brutal Murder and Psych Warnings Ignored
McMaster was jailed for life in 2002 after slashing Sharon with a carpet knife, leaving deep cuts all over her body and throat. He chillingly told police he killed her “because she was Black.”
Psychiatrists and judges previously warned McMaster was “extremely dangerous” and unlikely ever to be safe for release, citing his multiple personality disorders. Despite this, he was quietly freed into supervised accommodation.
Outrage as Killer Walks Free
Images show McMaster casually entering and leaving a hostel, carrying shopping bags — free to roam despite his violent past.
Sharon’s family say they never wanted him freed. Their outrage echoes concerns over how violent offenders with psychiatric risks are handled.
Political Reaction: Calls for Tougher Action
Scottish Liberal Democrat deputy leader Wendy Chamberlain said: “This individual committed a horrific crime and it is no surprise that his imminent release, which certainly raises questions, will cause alarm. Much more needs to be done to tackle violence against women and girls and prevent these crimes from ever happening in the first place.”
Scottish Conservative justice spokesperson Liam Kerr warned: “The public will rightly be alarmed at the imminent prospect of this killer being freed.”
The Ministry of Justice declined to comment on individual cases but stressed released life sentence offenders remain on licence and can be recalled if they pose a risk.
