Taxi Horror: Stranger Joins Night Out

An 18-year-old man has been charged after a woman was raped in Lowestoft in the early hours of Sunday, 5 April. The victim, in her 20s, and a friend got into a taxi outside the Blues pub when an unknown man climbed in uninvited.

Attack in an alley near London Road

The taxi stopped outside The Volunteer pub on London Road North. The woman and the suspect got out, walking towards Milton Road East. It’s alleged the man led her into an alley off Arnold Street and sexually assaulted her before fleeing the scene.

Suspect Caught Within 12 Hours

The attacker then ran down London Road North and turned into Gordon Road. Police swiftly arrested Harvey Flory, 18, from Shaw Avenue, Lowestoft, around 12 hours later. He was taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Facing Multiple Charges

Flory has now been charged with two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault by penetration. He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 7 April.
