A woman has been locked up for smuggling cocaine and cannabis during a visit to HMP Dovegate in east Staffordshire.

Londoner Naomi Iboroma Gets 18 Months

Naomi Iboroma, 23, from London, was sentenced to 18 months at Stafford Crown Court on Thursday, 16 April. She pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply a class A drug (cocaine) and a class B drug (cannabis).

Drugs Discovered During Prison Visit Search

The drama unfolded on 15 September 2023 when officers searched Naomi during a visit at HMP Dovegate, located in Draycott-in-the-Clay. She handed over a package containing both cocaine and cannabis. Despite initially opting to “no comment” during custody interviews, she later admitted to the offences once confronted with the evidence.

“We’re working hard every single day in Staffordshire to tackle serious and organised crime,” said Staffordshire Police. “Thanks to efforts by our proactive teams and partners, 354 people believed to be involved in serious crime were arrested across the county between January and December last year.”
