Cops Spot BMW Tied to Drugs
Police on knife crime patrol in Nottingham targeted a BMW on January 30, 2026. The car was linked to illegal drug activity. When officers flashed their blue lights, the driver didn’t stop. Instead, the BMW sped off and crashed through wheelie bins on Ossington Close.
Driver Makes Dramatic Escape – But Gets Caught
Nashon Maleta, 22, of Sketchley Street, bailed from the car and sprinted up a grassy bank. Officers quickly caught up with him, finding cash in his pockets. Nearby, they uncovered two large bundles filled with wraps of crack cocaine—the very drugs Maleta had just thrown away.
Denial Falls Flat as More Drugs Found at Homes
Maleta claimed, “he hadn’t thrown anything.”
But police weren’t fooled. Searches of two addresses linked to Maleta revealed more cocaine rocks, cannabis, cash, and other drug paraphernalia.
Jail Time for Drug Supply and Dangerous Driving
Maleta pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply both cocaine and cannabis, plus possession of criminal property. He also admitted to driving without due care, and without a licence or insurance. On April 22, at Nottingham Crown Court, Maleta was sentenced to three years and nine months behind bars.
