Klaudia Zakrzewska, a 32-year-old woman, died on Saturday following injuries sustained when she was struck outside the Inca nightclub on Argyll Street, Soho, six days earlier. The Metropolitan Police confirmed her family was by her side throughout the harrowing week she was declared brain dead, highlighting the tragic impact of the incident.

Suspect Faces Murder Charge

Gabrielle Carrington, 29, a former X Factor finalist and social media influencer from Manchester, appeared in court accused of attempted murder, a charge now upgraded to murder following Klaudia’s death. She is also facing charges including dangerous driving, driving nearly twice over the drink-drive limit, and causing injuries to two other victims.

Other Victims Suffer Serious Injuries

Among those injured was 58-year-old security guard Anoosh Chaichy, who suffered life-changing injuries after being hit while attempting to move an e-scooter. Mr Chaichy, from Edgware, North London, was working outside the bar when the incident occurred.

Family Raises Funds For Treatment

Klaudia’s family has raised over £21,000 via a GoFundMe campaign, set up by her mother Kinga, to cover medical treatment and legal fees. The fundraiser also provides for ongoing support and potential funeral costs, reflecting the family’s heartbreak and community support.

Police Appeal For Respect

Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell expressed condolences to Klaudia’s family and appealed for the public to avoid speculation and not share graphic footage circulating on social media. She emphasised that such material could hinder the investigation and impact court proceedings.

Next Court Date Set

Gabrielle Carrington did not enter a plea during her court appearance. She is due to appear next at the Old Bailey on May 19. Friends and family of Klaudia attended the hearing, underscoring the case’s emotional gravity.
