A suspected shoplifter clashed with supermarket staff and a member of the public in a Tesco car park in Leeds, West Yorkshire. The chaotic confrontation, captured on video on Friday 19 June, shows the man spilling a basket of goods and fighting staff trying to stop him from leaving with stolen items.

Violent Struggle Unfolds

Footage reveals a tense fight where the man in a black hoodie lashes out, punching a staff member dressed in blue. During the scuffle, goods were scattered across the car park as staff and bystanders attempted to retrieve the stolen items.

Bystander Injured In Altercation

The man also struck another man who had stepped in to help. The second man, who was not Tesco staff, appeared to stumble backwards after being hit in the incident widely reported by witnesses.

Witnesses Condemn The Attack

“I know it’s expensive in Tesco these days – no need to kick off like that after you robbed a full basket of items,” said one eyewitness. “Fully grown men robbing supermarkets then attacking innocent guys just helping the staff get the items back.”

Police Keep Details Under Wraps

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident have not been confirmed by police, and inquiries remain ongoing.
