A woman has been charged after four men were stabbed in Covent Garden, central London, in an incident that prompted a major emergency response. The Metropolitan Police said Stella Gollovena, 47 of no fixed address, has been charged with:
- Four counts of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
- One count of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place
She has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Highbury Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 6 August.
Four men taken to hospital
Police were called to Endell Street, Covent Garden, at around 12.27pm on Wednesday 5 August, following reports of a stabbing/" title="Stabbing" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">stabbing. Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance. At the scene, four men aged 34, 39, 42 and 56 were found suffering from stab wounds. All four were taken to hospital for treatment. Police said their injuries were assessed as not life-threatening or life-changing, and they have since been discharged.
Suspect arrested at the scene
A 47-year-old woman was arrested by officers who responded to the incident within minutes. Following enquiries, the Metropolitan Police authorised charges against Gollovena. The investigation remains ongoing.
