Murder Probe Launched After Boy, 12, Killed in Hit-and-Run Near Loughton School

Police have opened a murder investigation after a silver Ford KA mowed down a group of pedestrians near Debden Park High School in Loughton. The horrifying crash happened just after 3.20pm on Monday, December 2, on Wallingale Road.

Tragically, a 12-year-old local boy was rushed to hospital but later died from his injuries. Several others were hurt, including three teenagers and a woman, though officers say none face life-threatening conditions.

Multiple Teens Injured in Incident Near Debden Park High

  • Two 15-year-old boys
  • One 13-year-old boy
  • One 16-year-old girl
  • One 53-year-old woman

All the young victims attend Debden Park High School, just yards from the scene. Emergency services treated some on site, others were taken to hospital.

Police Hunt Hit-and-Run Driver Who Fled Scene

Officers from across Essex are urgently searching for the silver KA and the reckless driver who sped off without stopping.

“This has been a truly shocking incident and my deepest sympathies are with all those involved,” said Detective Chief Inspector Rob Kirby from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.

“I thank the public for their calls and vital medical help given at the scene. Anyone with dash cam footage or info is urged to contact us.”
