Tragic Death of 15-Year-Old at Chislehurst School
A 15-year-old boy has died after a sudden medical emergency at a secondary school in Chislehurst, southeast London.
Emergency Response at Hawkwood Lane School
The incident happened at around 1.25pm on Tuesday, May 13, at a school on Hawkwood Lane, near Botany Bay Lane. London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance rushed to the scene.
The teenager was treated on-site and rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Police Confirm Death and Investigation Status
“On Tuesday, 13 May at 1.25pm police were called by the London Ambulance Service to a school in Bromley, where a 15-year-old boy was suffering a medical emergency.
London’s Air Ambulance transported the boy to hospital where he has sadly now died.
The boy’s death is being treated as unexpected but not suspicious at this time.
His family and the school are being supported by officers.”
Coopers School Identified as Likely Location
Although the school has not been officially named, Coopers School is the only secondary school on Hawkwood Lane. It is understood the boy was a student there. The school has been contacted for a comment.
London Ambulance Service Details Rescue Efforts
“We were called at 1.20pm yesterday (13 May) about a person unwell in Hawkwood Lane, Chislehurst.
Two ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, and an incident response officer were sent to the scene along with London’s Air Ambulance.
The first paramedic arrived in less than five minutes.
We treated the teenager at the scene and took him to hospital by road as a priority.”
