Following a storming 50th anniversary bash, the Isle of Wight Festival is back for 2019 – set for 13-16 June. Early bird tickets have already hit the shelves, so don’t hang about!
Golden Jubilee Celebration Draws Massive Crowds
This year’s festival was a scorchin’ success under the summer sun, marking 50 years of legendary music on the island. A whopping 50,000 fans turned out, rocking gold outfits to shine on the Golden Jubilee weekend.
Epic Line-Up and Standout Moments
The weekend sold out in no time, with nearly 300 acts across eight stages. Headliners smashed it – Kasabian, Liam Gallagher, Depeche Mode, and The Killers lit up the Main Stage. Meanwhile, The Wombats, Feeder, Sigrid, Travis and Hacienda Classical impressed in the Big Top.
Fans also flocked to the BT Sport Field of Dreams to cheer England’s World Cup win against Panama. Plus, 130 daring festival-goers, alongside Sky Arts’ Vick Hope and Absolute Radio’s Pete Donaldson, took on wild bungee jumps to raise cash for Save the Children.
Festival Boss Praises Unforgettable Year
Festival director John Giddings said: “From the response we are getting it appears to have been our best year so far! Having sold out in advance was fantastic, the acts on the weekend all delivered, the audience really took the 50th anniversary gold-themed day to heart, and the 1 certainly helped. Here’s to 2019!”
