Electrical Fire Sparks Hospital Rush in Stoke on Trent
Chaos hit Stoke on Trent early this morning after an electrical fire near homes in Normacot sent a dozen people to hospital. Emergency services sprang into action at 1:50am when fire broke out in an electrical box on Upper Belgrave Road.
Ambulances and Hazardous Response Team Descend
West Midlands Ambulance Service deployed three ambulances, two paramedic officers, and their Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) to tackle the scene and help affected residents. Smoke inhalation was a major concern as several houses were impacted by the fire.
12 Hospitalised, Others Given On-Scene Care
A spokesperson from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “Nine adults and three children were assessed for smoke inhalation and taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further checks.”
They added: “An additional four adults and seven children were checked but didn’t need hospital treatment. They were given self-care advice and discharged at the scene.”
