Huge Cannabis Bust in Folkestone Nets Plants Worth £200k

Kent Police Raid Uncovers Massive Grow Operation

Kent Police swooped on a property on Folkestone Road early Wednesday, April 20, 2022. They seized over 180 cannabis plants hidden in multiple rooms, along with cultivation gear and other material linked to the illegal stash.

£200,000 Worth of Drugs Taken Off the Streets

The haul could have produced cannabis with an estimated street value of around £200,000. Authorities confirmed the operation was set up to flood local communities with illegal drugs, fuelling crime and anti-social behaviour.

Investigation Ongoing to Track Crooks

Officers are continuing their investigation and working to track down the individuals behind the illicit grow. Inspector Paul Barrell of Dover Community Safety Unit said:

“The money made from the sale of these illegal drugs would have ended up in criminal hands, leading to knock-on crime and anti-social behaviour in our community. I am pleased these plants have been removed from circulation and our officers will continue to work to track down those behind the site.”

Police Call for Public Help

Kent Police urge anyone who suspects drug production or sales in their area to get in touch. You can report concerns via their website, by calling 101, or dial 999 in emergencies.
