Man, 73, Held Over Murder of Woman, 62, in Eastbourne
Police swooped after the body of a 62-year-old woman was found at a house in Eastbourne.
Suspicious Death at Weatherby Close
Officers were called to Weatherby Close at 3.25pm on Friday, 4 September. The woman, who lived at the property, was discovered dead under suspicious circumstances.
Investigation Underway as Man Arrested
A 73-year-old man, known to the victim, was arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody for questioning while detectives probe the case.
“Our thoughts are with the woman’s family at this tragic time,” said Detective Inspector Barry Chandler. “The investigation is still at an early stage as we work to establish the full circumstances of her death.”
A postmortem is scheduled for Saturday afternoon, 5 September, as the inquiry continues.
