Tragic Fall from Scaffolding

On Tuesday, January 24, 2023, just after 1pm, emergency services rushed to Queens Park, West 1, following a horrendous accident. A man fell roughly 20 metres from scaffolding while working on a two-story building on Fifth Avenue, West Kilburn.

Massive Rescue Effort Fails

The london/" title="London">London Fire Brigade deployed a rope rescue specialist, a 32-metre turntable ladder, and the London Ambulance Service sent their elite “HART” team along with an air ambulance. Despite their rapid and expert response, paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.

“Sadly, despite the best efforts of our medics, a person died at the scene,” confirmed a London Ambulance Service spokesperson.

Investigation Underway

The Metropolitan Police, Health and Safety Executive, and the coroner have launched formal inquiries into the incident. Meanwhile, a significant area remains cordoned off as officers piece together how the tragedy unfolded.
