Massive Blaze Razes Forest Hill Home
Eight fire engines and 60 firefighters raced to a blazing house fire on Melford Road, Forest Hill. The inferno gutted the entire first floor and roof.
Residents Escape Unharmed
A man and woman escaped the burning home unscathed before fire crews arrived. Nearby, a neighbour was checked over by ambulance staff at the scene.
Fire Under Control Within Two Hours
The emergency call came in at 7am on Monday. Thanks to quick action from West Norwood and other local stations, the fire was under control by 9am.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
