Man, 21, Fatally Stabbed in Broad Daylight on Lionel Road
Police rushed to Lionel Road, SE9, at 5.11pm on Tuesday, 8 February after reports of a stabbing. Emergency crews found a man with serious stab wounds. Despite urgent treatment at the scene and hospital, he was pronounced dead shortly after.
Victim Named as Bartosz ‘Bartek’ Wyrzykowski
The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Bartosz Wyrzykowski, known as Bartek to family and friends. His next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers. A post-mortem is scheduled at Greenwich Mortuary on Friday, 11 February.
Homicide Detectives Hunt Killer
The Met’s Specialist Crime Command is leading the murder investigation. Detective Inspector Mel Pressley said:
“A team of experienced officers are working tirelessly to catch those responsible for Bartek’s murder.”
She urged locals to come forward with any info:
“Lionel Road would have been busy at around 5pm. Did you see a fight or a group involved? Did you film anything?”
