Tragic Stabbing on Wisbeach Road: Young Man Killed, Another Injured
Police rushed to a residential address on Wisbeach Road, SE25, at around 8.10pm on Friday, 5 February, after reports of a stabbing.
Officers and paramedics found Lavaun with a stab wound. Despite desperate attempts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene at 9.09pm.
Another male victim suffered a stab injury during the incident and was taken to hospital before police arrived. His condition is not life-threatening, and his family have been informed.
Family Mourns ‘Legend’ Lavaun
“The family is absolutely devastated and the impact this incident has had is enormous. His local community is distraught,” the family said in a heartfelt tribute.
“No one could have seen this coming. Lavaun was destined for greatness and wanted to fly high. He just wanted a good life and to take care of his family.”
“Everyone who knows him will remember him as a legend. We are all traumatized. We don’t know how we are going to go on. It is just too painful. Long Live Lavz.”
Police Urge Witnesses to Step Forward
Detective Chief Inspector Kate Kieran from Specialist Crime South appealed for information.
“A young man has lost his life and his family have been left heartbroken by this needless act of violence.
“Someone knows who did this. If you saw or heard anything shortly after 8pm on Friday, please come forward. Even the smallest detail could help piece together what happened.”
“We know a group of males attended the address, leading to an altercation that resulted in Lavaun’s fatal injuries.
“Please contact police immediately if you can help us find those responsible. Our thoughts are with Lavaun’s devastated family. Officers will work tirelessly to catch those responsible.”
Although there were several violent incidents across south London that evening, there is no known connection to this case.
No Arrests Yet as Investigation Continues
So far, no arrests have been made. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.
