Murder Probe Launched After Late-Night Shooting in North London
A murder investigation is underway after a person was shot dead on Turnpike Lane, North London, in the early hours of Friday morning.
Shots Fired on Willoughby Road
Police were called at 1:21am following reports of gunfire on Willoughby Road, N8. Despite frantic efforts by paramedics and HEMS doctors, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene near a bus stop.
Major Crime Scene and Bus Diversions
A large crime scene has been sealed off, causing disruption to public transport. Seventeen bus routes have been diverted, and road closures are expected to remain in place for some time.
Police Appeal for Information
The Met Police describe the investigation as “fast-moving” and urge anyone with information to come forward immediately. Drivers and pedestrians are advised to avoid the area to help emergency services carry out their work.
