Four Arrested After Late-Night Brawl Rocks Sittingbourne
Chaos Erupts in West Street
Kent Police were called out to a major disturbance in Sittingbourne on the night of Friday 17 July 2020. At around 11.35pm, a large group of men clashed in West Street, sparking chaos in the town centre.
Four Men Busted Near Train Station
After the incident, many involved reportedly headed to the nearby train station. Police quickly arrested four 18-year-old men from Chatham on the same night. The suspects are:
- Devonte Lesley, Huckleberry Close
- Owen Godfrey, Rover Road
- Harry Harrison, Kingston Crescent
- Taylor Hayes, Mountbatten Avenue
All four face charges of using threatening behaviour with intent to cause fear of violence. They have been bailed and are set to appear at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on Monday 17 August.
Police Hunt Injured Man and Witnesses
Following a CCTV review, officers believe another man was injured during the fracas. He is said to speak with an Eastern European accent. Police want to check on his wellbeing and urge him to come forward.
Investigators also say many witnesses haven’t yet given statements, which could help ID additional suspects.
