Cop Stabbed in Daring Attempt to Stop Knife-Wielding Thugs in Westminster
Violent Robbery Thwarted on Chapter Street
On Sunday afternoon, two officers spotted trouble brewing on Chapter Street, SW1. Around 3.42pm, a male and female police pair caught sight of two men armed with knives trying to rob a local grocery store.
The quick-thinking shopkeeper had already forced the suspects out before the cops stepped in to detain them.
Heroic Officer Stabbed but Keeps Chase Alive
As the officers confronted the knifemen, the female officer was stabbed in the abdomen. But she refused to back down, giving chase along Vauxhall Bridge Road.
Backup arrived fast, and firearms officers helped nab the suspects shortly after.
Officer Rushed to Hospital, Survives Attacks
The stabbed officer was taken to hospital. Thankfully, her wounds are not life-threatening.
Chief Inspector Simon Brooker, Central West BCU, said:
“This incident highlights the constant risks officers face every single day to keep the public safe.
“Being stabbed on duty is unacceptable, but thankfully she’s on the road to recovery.
“Her bravery is typical of Met officers who put themselves on the line every time they serve.”
