Woman Caught Red-Handed in Sutton-in-Ashfield Burglary Drama

Police swooped on a former social club in High Pavement, Sutton-in-Ashfield, just before 3.30am Tuesday after a torchlight was spotted inside.

Quick-Thinking Public Leads to Arrest

A 32-year-old woman was arrested at the scene on suspicion of burglary. She remains in police custody.

Sergeant James Rimmington, Nottinghamshire Police, praised the alert local who raised the alarm.

“This was a good bit of work not only by officers involved, but also by the member of the public who reported their suspicions to the police. Their quick thinking helped disrupt a crime in progress and led us directly to a suspect.”
