Tragedy in Croydon: Three Dead After House Blaze
Police and the London Fire Brigade are probing a deadly house fire in South Croydon. Emergency services rushed to Sanderstead Road at 10.48pm on Friday, 29 December after a blaze broke out.
Three Men Die, Two Hospitalised
- Two men were found dead at the scene, including one believed to be in his 40s.
- A third man, thought to be in his 30s, was taken to hospital but sadly died the next day.
- Police are still confirming the identities of all three men and informing their families.
Two More Men Injured, One Critical
Two other men self-presented at hospital later. One man in his 30s remains in critical condition. The other has since been discharged.
Investigation Underway
Detectives from the Met’s South Area CID are leading the inquiry alongside LFB specialists to determine what caused the fire.
Chief Inspector Imran Asghar said: “This is an extremely sad incident, resulting in three deaths and a fourth man critically ill. We are making progress confirming the identities of the men, who we believe to be Polish nationals, and supporting their families.
