Man With Thick Scottish Accent Caught Eyeing Toddler in Aldershot
Police in Aldershot are hunting witnesses after a troubling incident in the town centre on Monday afternoon, May 30.
Strange Encounter Near Weatherspoons
Around 1pm, a man approached a woman and her young child between Short Street and the Weatherspoons pub. According to police, the man tried to engage the child in conversation and even touched the youngster inappropriately. Thankfully, no attempt was made to abduct the child.
The mother, feeling uneasy, quickly left the area with her child.
Suspect With Scottish Accent Released But Under Investigation
The suspect is described as white, about 5ft 8in tall, average build, with grey hair and a thick Scottish accent.
A 57-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault but has since been released while police continue their inquiries.
