Police are appealing for witnesses following an aggravated burglary at a property in Huddersfield.

Kirklees CID would like to speak to anyone who saw has information about an incident on Newsome Road, Huddersfield which took place at about 11.10pm on Monday July 10.

Officers were called to the address to a report a group of three to four men had broken into the property and threatened victims inside with weapons including a baseball bat.

Suspects had fled prior to police attendance but on searching the address, officers found the remains of a cannabis factory. 

Following a search, two victims from the aggravated burglary were located in an empty nearby house on the road.  One had suffered serious arm injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment  

Both were later arrested for drugs offences and police remain at the scene today to continue to conduct forensic enquires into both the break-in and dugs offences. 

Detective Inspector Matthew Sykes of Kirklees CID, said: “We are continuing to investigate what took place on Newsome Road and are treating the break-in and assault on the victim as a targeted incident.
“I would like to speak to anyone who saw suspects outside the house which was broken into just prior to the incident or those persons fleeing the scene,
“Anyone who saw or has footage of what took place is asked to contact Kirklees CID on 101 or online at www.westyorkshire.police.uk/101livechat  referencing police crime number 13230384599.
