A 35-year-old man has tragically died following a high-speed collision in Sutton Coldfield after refusing to stop for police. The smash happened just before midnight on Lindridge Road near the Springfield Road junction.

West Midlands Police say officers tried to pull over a van, but it failed to stop. Moments later, the vehicle slammed into something, sparking an urgent emergency response.
“Officers began CPR before ambulance colleagues arrived,” the police statement said. “Despite their best efforts, the man sadly died a short time later.”
