Firefighters Scale Back Efforts After Blaze at Derelict Pub Near Sevenoaks

Fire Under Control at South Ash Road

Fire crews are winding down their operation at a derelict building, once a bustling pub, on South Ash Road in Ash, near Sevenoaks. Initially, eight fire engines, a height vehicle, and around 40 firefighters tackled the blaze. But thanks to good progress, only four fire engines remain on scene.

Water Tankers Tackle Fire From Safe Distance

Firefighters continue dousing the flames using water from a bulk water carrier tanker. They use powerful main jets while keeping a safe distance, as the building’s structure remains dangerous. Local authority engineers have been called in to assess the site for stability and safety concerns.

Kent Police Suspect Suspicious Cause

Kent Police are present, as the cause of the fire is considered suspicious. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported so far. Fire crews and police remain on site, working hard to bring the incident to a full close.
