Young Man Stabbed to Death in Camberwell
Detectives have named the victim of a deadly stabbing in Camberwell as 23-year-old Sidique Kamara. Police were called to Warham Street, SE5, at 7.20pm on Wednesday, 1 August, following reports of three men stabbed.
Tragic Scene as Sidique Dies at the Scene
Emergency crews, including London’s Air Ambulance, rushed to the scene. Despite their best efforts, Sidique died at the scene from two stab wounds to the chest. A post-mortem on 3 August confirmed the cause of death.
Two Others Stabbed, Arrests Made
Two other males, aged 16 and 31, were found injured but with non-life-threatening wounds. They are in hospital and currently under arrest on suspicion of murder. Meanwhile, two men, aged 19 and 18, were arrested nearby on suspicion of murder but have since been released under investigation.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
“Another young man has tragically and needlessly lost his life through an act of violence,” said Detective Chief Inspector Richard Leonard.
“We are keeping an open mind about the possible motive, but gang-related activity is one line of enquiry.
“Our investigation is ongoing, and we are working around the clock to bring those responsible to justice. We urge anyone with information, no matter how small, to get in touch urgently. All info will be treated in the strictest confidence.”
