Salem Koudou, 20, Stabbed to Death in Lambeth Street Violence
Detectives are urgently hunting for witnesses after 20-year-old Salem Koudou was fatally stabbed in Lambeth.
Deadly Fight Erupts Near Overton Road
Police rushed to reports of a street brawl around 5.55pm on Thursday, 20 August near Overton Road, SW9. Salem was found critically injured on Wynne Road and rushed to hospital, but sadly died at 8.53pm.
A post-mortem confirmed he died from multiple stab wounds. His family have been informed and are mourning this senseless loss.
Multiple Arrests and Overturned Car Linked to Attack
- A 26-year-old man, also stabbed near Overton Road, remains in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Initially arrested for conspiracy to murder, he has now been released.
- Police discovered a crashed, overturned car on nearby Marcella Road linked to the incident. It may have collided with another vehicle but no injuries were reported from the crash itself.
- A 19-year-old suspect has been arrested on suspicion of murder and grievous bodily harm (GBH) but released on bail pending further inquiries.
Police Plea: Who Saw What on That Busy Evening?
The Met’s Homicide Chief Detective Inspector Richard Vandenbergh said:
“Today would have been Salem’s birthday. Instead, his family are shattered by this brutal loss. We need to piece together exactly what happened that evening, and that means hearing from anyone who witnessed the fight.”
“This all happened on a busy street. Many locals have already spoken to us, but there are more out there who haven’t come forward. If you caught anything on video or dash cam, please get in touch. You’ll have our full support.”
