Tragedy struck in Hillingdon as a 79-year-old woman was fatally hit by a car on a pedestrian crossing near the Co-Op on Long Lane.

Fatal Crash on Long Lane

Police were called just before 1pm on Friday, 11 August, following reports of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian at a busy crossing.

Emergency crews, including officers and the London Ambulance Service, rushed to the scene. The elderly woman was swiftly taken to hospital, but despite desperate attempts to save her, she sadly died that same afternoon.

Family Informed, Investigation Underway

The victim’s family has been notified and is receiving support from specialist officers as they come to terms with the loss.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now probing the crash. They urgently want to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or captured it on dash cam.
