Chaos Erupts as Pepper Spray Hits Cops in Hostile Crowd Clash
Just after 5pm on Saturday, September 26, public order officers faced a hostile crowd. Tensions boiled over when someone sprayed a noxious substance, believed to be pepper spray, straight at them.
Eight Officers Suffer Eye Irritation
The attack left eight officers struggling with eye irritation. Luckily, none have suffered lasting injuries. Acting Detective Inspector Chris Rudd condemned the reckless act, saying:
“Fortunately, none of the officers have suffered any lasting effects from this incident. However, a noxious substance was indiscriminately sprayed towards them by someone who displayed a disregard for their welfare.”

Now, officers are on the hunt for the culprit. They’ve released images of a man they want to question and are urging the public to help bring him to justice.
