Cop Caught Drugging Up: DC Stephen Proctor Booted from Met
DC Stephen Proctor, once part of the South East Basic Command Unit, has been thrown out of the Met after failing a drugs test.
Drugs Test Drama
On 20 April, Proctor was ordered to give a urine sample amid suspicions he was on banned substances. The forensic test on 28 April revealed shocking results: Amphetamine levels over 2600ng/ml and Methamphetamine above 4000ng/ml. Experts say these amounts showed clear misuse, not medicinal use, breaking Met’s strict substance rules.
Dismissed Without Mercy
Assistant Commissioner Helen Ball ruled Proctor guilty of misconduct and dismissed him without notice. Now, he’s on the College of Policing barred list — banned from ever serving as a police officer again.

Chief Superintendent Trevor Lawry, policing boss for Greenwich, Lewisham, and Bexley, said: “The actions of this former officer are incredibly disappointing and fall far below the rigorous values and standards that we strive to uphold in this BCU. Quick and appropriate action was taken when it was suspected that he had been using prohibited substances and as a result he has now been rightfully dismissed. Our communities deserve the best of its police officers and that kind of behaviour has no place at all in the Met.”
