Fuel Thieves Hit Three HGVs Overnight in Layby Heist

Thieves struck three lorries parked off the London-bound carriageway near Stuppington Lane bridge between 10pm Tuesday and 1:30am Wednesday, draining thousands of pounds worth of diesel straight from their tanks.

Men Caught Acting Suspiciously – Then Fled

Officers spotted two men acting suspiciously near the targeted HGVs. When challenged, the pair took off on foot. A search soon found two men matching the descriptions, who were arrested on suspicion of fuel theft.

Both suspects, aged 41 and 29, remain in custody as inquiries continue.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

Anyone who saw the thefts or has dashcam footage from the layby between 10pm on 11 October and 1.30am on 12 October is urged to come forward.
