Thieves Target Alton Charity Shop, Make Off with Cash

Police are hunting crooks who broke into an Alton charity shop and swiped around £30 in cash. The robbery happened sometime between 4.50pm on Sunday, November 13, and 8.40am the next day at the Scope charity shop on the High Street.

Burglars Smash and Grab

The burglars forced open a fire escape door to break in. Once inside, they didn’t make off with much—just about £30—but the theft has left locals fuming.

Police Appeal for Tips

PC 1 Parkinson slammed the heartless thieves, saying: “Stealing is bad enough, but nicking from a charity that raises money for worthy causes is absolutely despicable.”

“Do you know who did this, or have you heard anyone bragging about breaking into a charity shop? I urge anyone with information to come forward and tell us what they know in confidence.”

If you have any details, police want to hear from you.
