Blaze Breaks Out in Roof Space Near Pease Pottage

Firefighters are battling a fierce blaze at a home off Forest Road, close to Pease Pottage. The fire broke out in the roof space and was fully alight when crews arrived this morning.

Massive Fire Response in Action

West Sussex Fire Service scrambled multiple units from Crawley, Haywards Heath, Horsham, Turners Hill, and Billingshurst. Backup also came from Surrey teams in Salfords and Reigate.

The Technical Response Unit and Command Unit are coordinating efforts on site. They’re using a drone and thermal imaging to spot hotspots, while a water carrier from Burgess Hill is helping tackle the flames.

Local Residents Urged to Stay Safe

Nearby residents have been told to keep windows and doors firmly shut while crews work to douse the fire.

As of 10:30am, crews remain at the scene, working hard to stamp out the fire completely. The drone continues to provide vital thermal images that guide firefighters in the tricky roof space.
