One Lane Closed on A2 After Police Bust Near Canterbury
One lane of the busy A2 remains shut tonight between Dunkirk on the outskirts of Canterbury and the M2 following a dramatic police stop. Officers pulled over a black Vauxhall Vectra just after 6pm on Thursday and detained several people on the busy carriageway.
Police Act on Intelligence Tip-Off
The hard stop involved two patrol cars and a roads policing vehicle. Police reportedly acted on intelligence before pulling the Vauxhall from Canterbury city centre. Both men and women were handcuffed and held on the roadside.
Several People Taken into Custody
Some of those detained have since been taken into custody as investigations continue. Traffic is still affected while police clear the scene, with long delays expected on the A2 this evening.
