Surrey Police Told to Avoid Notorious 'Dogging' Spot in Ockham and Wisley Woods
Top brass at Surrey Police have issued a straight-up warning to officers: steer clear of a well-known dogging hotspot in Ockham and Wisley Woods. The message is clear – don’t risk getting your knuckles wrapped over possible ‘human rights’ complaints.
What Is Dogging?
For the uninitiated, ‘dogging’ involves men meeting in car parks for some risqué outdoor action. It’s all very public and, well, pretty naughty.
Police Caught Between a Rock and a Hard Place
Officers normally patrol these spots to keep the peace and offer ‘reassurance’ to genuine visitors – like innocent dog walkers who might awkwardly stumble upon some middle-aged men getting busy in cars during the balmy weather.
“A few years back we used to sit up on our patrol route at a well known dogging area. During the day it’s a lovely car park with picnic areas and a café,” a source who wished to remain anonymous told us.
“At night it turns into a dogging hotspot. When we spoke to the local police, they warned us that parking up after dark risked being seen by the ‘doggers’ as infringing on their human rights.”
What started as a joke quickly turned serious after a complaint was made. Officers and local volunteers – nicknamed ‘wombles’ – were advised to simply stay away to avoid stirring up trouble.
Our source added with a smirk: “Sometimes we sneak in quietly, no lights, then suddenly light up everything we have just to watch the crowds scatter – it’s quite a sight!”
